South Africa - student’s presentation
South Africa is the southernmost country in Africa. South Africa is the 25th-largest country in the world by land area with 11 official languages including English.
The two of these languages are of European origin: Afrikaans developed from Dutch and is the first language for most white and coloured South Africans; English reflects the British colonialism, and is generally used in public and commercial life.
During the 20th century, the black majority was searching for its rights from the dominant white minority playing a large role in the country’s recent history and politics.
Since 1994, all ethnic and linguistic groups have held political representation in the country’s democracy, which sets up a parliamentary republic. South Africa is often called as the „rainbow nation“. It describes the country’s multicultural diversity.
The capital of SA is Pretoria, and the largest city is Johannesburg. Cape Town is one of the most beautiful cities in the world, especially due to its natural landscape. Cape Town lies at the base of the Table Mountain, one of the most interesting natural formation in the world.
The distance between the Czech Republic and South Africa is 13 hours by plane.
