My students like to discuss topics that refer to gardening, cooking, health etc. One of the topics that I chose for my students is „Healing of plant oils“. Let’s read what healing effects plant oils have on our body.

Healing of plant oils.
Some plants oils can be used for natural first aid.They are useful part of home medicine cabinet.
Castor oil helps our wounds from rusty nails, infections or thick bites or splinters.
Lavender oil is a natural antibiotics and antiseptic, promotes healing and prevents scarring.
Tea tree oil is a powerful antiseptic and its antiviral, antifungal and antibacterial functions make it useful in a treating for wounds, scratches, cuts, sores, itchiness or other insect bites.
Olive oil treats ears that ache and it relieves pain, it is often used for the skin rashes or allergic reactions.
Linseed oil treats sprained, strained, stretched and torn ligaments.It easies tight muscles and improves elasticity to tight or lose muscles.It is an essential sport medicine.
After reading this article and discussion I found out that many elderly students enjoy olive oil and rape oil for cooking.Some students also prefer going to natural pharmacy to classic pharmacy.And some of them use tea tree oil as a healing treatment.I stimulated my students‘ curiosity by showing the picture of castor oil plant on my PC which the castor seed contains poison.But after processing there is none, of course.It was nice to see how many students were happily involved in discussion about plant oils.
