ISA - spolupráce s rodilými mluvčími

Rodilí mluvčí z USA, jsou studenti, kteří zde studují na vysoké škole Univerzity Karlovy a zůstávají zde v časovém období od 3 měsíců až po 1 rok. Ubytování, volnočasové aktivity a ostatní služby pro ně zajišťuje ISA, která působí celosvětově s tímto programem již od roku 1987. U nás má zastoupení na Praze 3.

Studenti z USA, kteří do mých hodin angličtiny chodí 1x za měsíc v úterý a ve středu a dle studijního plánu se aktivně účastní konverzace se studenty, jsou uvedeni níže. Rovněž připojuji jejich krátký medailonek.

Michael Bouchillon: I was born in Nashville, Tennessee and raised in Franklin, TN. I am a senior at Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, TN. I study Organization Communications with a concentration in the Recording Industry. I have a minor in Music and I have played piano my whole life. I started classical training on piano when I was three years old and I also love Jazz! I also sing and play guitar. My last name is Bouchillon, which derives from French ancestry. They were Huguenots (french protestants) who came to U.S. in the 1700’s and lived in South Carolina. My family had lived there until my grandfather moved when he was a young child.

My life motto, Living is Giving.

Karissa Coady: I am from Watertown, Massachusetts. Watertown is a small suburb about 10 minutes outside of Boston. I come from a very big family and am the oldest sibling. My ancestors come from all over-Ireland, Germany, Scotland, Canada, and also some Native American. I am in my third year of college at Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee. Memphis is in the southern United States and has a completely different culture than where I grew up. There, I am working to create my own major bridging the theater and business departments. I also minor in urban studies. I hope to run an arts-based nonprofit one day. The scholarship I have allows me to do a lot of community service in the city of Memphis. This has given me a lot of experience in the field I wish to go into. That is how I spend most of my time when not in classes.

Emily McBee: I am 20 years old, and live in the United States. I grew up in Georgetown, Texas, a small town outside of the capital of Texas, Austin. I attend the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas, 3 hours from my home town. My degree is Speech and Language Pathology and Audiology, and I hope to work with children or high school students as a Speech Therapist. I am part Scottish and part Irish. I enjoy cross-stitching, reading, volunteering, and painting. My favorite thing to do is work at a summer camp for high school students with special needs every summer. Studying abroad was my first time leaving the United States, and since I left I’ve been to Hungary, Poland, and The United Kingdom!
