The U.S.A. and Canada
I have visited the USA several times since 1998. At that time I was there with my husband for the first time.
In 1998 we were in the USA and Canada for almost 3 months. We rented a car in Tampa, Florida, where my cousin Zdeněk lives. He and his wife Kim helped us start our trip. It was very useful for us.
Our trip continued to the north of the USA, towards New York along the east coast and then to Canada. We crossed over Niagara falls and then we went to Toronto. Our friend Tonda lives there with his family. We said „hello“ to them and continued through Canadian provinces such as Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta to British Columbia. There was a tramping gathering arranged for the Czech-Canadian tramps and friends in Golden, the city of the province British Columbia. It is a very nice place for gathering with many friends. A beautiful Bush River flowed along our tents. There were several camp fires made. Friends sat aroud, played and sang for a few days. Some of our friends were immigrants from 1968, while others didn’t see themselves for decades.
We could have picked huge canadian blueberries. I have never seen so big anywhere else. All enjoyed wonderful experiencing the whole journey.
On our way back we went to the USA and visited states such as Montana and Wyoming. Yelowstone N.P. lies on the border of Montana and Wyoming.
This park is the oldest and the most famous one in the USA. It was founded by U.S. Congress and signed into law by the President Grant on March 1st., 1892. Yelowstone N. P. spans 3,468 miles.
You can drive through Rocky Mountains but the weather is very severe (rough), even in summer. Once we pitched a tent in the campground, the temperature at night was -4 degrees C. Horrible!
The famous scenic Beartooth Highway is open from late May/early June to mid October and it depends on weather conditions.
Once you get there, it is worth to see the beautiful countryside with wild animals like bison, grizzly, black bear, deer and moose – everywhere in Yellowstone, Wyoming and Montana.
All trips across Canada and the USA were one of the most beautiful experiences in my life. I can warmly recommend them to everybody.
