Článek byl vydán 6. března 2018
The topic is very attracting because it is watched not only by the elderly but also by all age people. This contains an interesting history about the Oscars. The official ceremony was announced on March 4th.

The Academy Awards ceremony happens annually. This year it celebrates its 90th anniversary.
In 1927, the Academy (consisting of 36 of the most important individuals in the film industry) decided to award excellent achievements. The idea was to encourage higher levels of quality in all aspects of film production.Actor Douglas Fairbanks became the Academy’s first president.
The first ceremony took place in 1929 in the Blossom Room at the Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood. It was a very private event, with only 270 guests. It lasted a long time and included many speeches. There were 12 categories, and the statuettes were handed out to the winners during the banquet.Only one photograph and a short text appeared in the newspaper.
The impressive statuette was designed by Irish-born Cedric Gibbons, an influential Hollywood stylist.Afterwards, this design was made into a sculpture by George Stanley, a Los Angeles artist.Academy librarian (later to become executive director) Margaret Herrick said that the figure resembled her Uncle Oscar, and the Academy Award of Merit became the Oscar.
The Academy Awards ceremony is always broadcast to the public.Until 1953, it was on the radio, and after that, it was on TV.In 1966, it was in colour, which allowed people at home to experience the dazzling appeal of the event. After that, the popularity of the Academy Awards increased enormously.Today it is seen in more than 225 countries.Since 1929, more than 3,000 people have received statuettes.
The canine star Rin Tin Tin received the most votes for Best Actor
in 1929! (Rin Tin Tin starred in 27 films, four of which were
released in 1929).
